Domain validation (DV)

SDH Standard SSL

A straightforward domain-validated certificate for a website with one main address. Choose it when you need HTTPS and can prove control of the domain, without requiring the certificate to carry a verified organization identity.

Know the names you are securing

One website address, with a clear boundary.

SDH Standard SSL is single-domain DV. An eligible www/non-www pair can be covered together; confirm the exact names before the request is issued.

shop.example.com

A different subdomain; do not assume it is included with the main domain.

Coverage boundary

This is one-domain coverage. A separate domain, a collection of subdomains or a deeper hostname needs an appropriate additional certificate or a different coverage type.

Match the requirement

Where SDH Standard SSL fits.

Start with the addresses you need to protect and the identity checks your organization requires.

DV can encrypt ecommerce and login traffic. Choose OV or EV if verified business identity is part of your requirements.

A specific hosting requirement

A project where your administrator has confirmed that a separately supplied DV certificate fits the server and operating process.

HTTPS encrypts data in transit between supported clients and a correctly configured server. It does not guarantee that a website is malware-free or replace secure application and server administration.

Before you begin

Have the right access and information ready.

Confirm your exact main hostname and whether the www counterpart is needed. Check whether your hosting already includes an automated DV certificate; that may meet your needs without a separate paid certificate.

Certificate request preparation for SDH Standard SSL.
  • Domain control. Access to an available CA-approved validation method for the requested names.
  • Compatible hosting. A server or hosting service that accepts a separately supplied certificate, with an administrator available to install it.
  • A certificate signing request (CSR). Your administrator generates it and keeps the corresponding private key secure.
  • A replacement plan. Someone responsible for later reissues, installation and manual renewal.

A CSR is request data, not a private key. Keep private keys, passwords, payment-card details and identity documents out of ordinary website enquiry forms.

A manual process, with clear responsibilities

How ordering works.

SDH coordinates your certificate order. The CA performs validation and issuance; your administrator handles installation.

  1. Choose coverage and term for SDH Standard SSL.

    Choose coverage and term

Select the prepaid period for SDH Standard SSL. Review the full upfront total and confirm the names and validation requirements with SDH before proceeding.

  2. Prepare the certificate request for SDH Standard SSL.

    Prepare the certificate request

Generate a CSR for the agreed main hostname and confirm the eligible www pairing with SDH before issuance.

  3. Complete the CA's validation for SDH Standard SSL.

    Complete the CA's validation

Prove control of the requested domain using an available CA-approved method. DV is often faster once the domain check is completed, but there is no fixed issuance deadline.

  4. Install and check HTTPS for SDH Standard SSL.

    Install and check HTTPS

Your administrator installs the issued certificate and chain, configures HTTPS and checks the secured names. Later reissuance can require this step again.

A prepaid term is different from certificate validity.

Your selected 1 year prepaid period is paid in full upfront. It does not produce one certificate valid for an unrestricted period. CA and browser rules determine individual certificate validity. Later reissuance, validation and installation may be required within the prepaid subscription.

Choose the right certificate coverage and agree any additional technical assistance separately.

Issued certificate materials for SDH Standard SSL.

Included with the selected certificate

  • The agreed single-domain coverage and eligible www pairing.
  • Domain validation, certificate files and the applicable certificate chain.
  • Reissuance supported by the issuer's rules during the purchased subscription.

Browser and device trust depends on valid issuance, supported clients and correct server configuration. A site seal is available only where the issuer supplies and licenses one for the product.

Separate certificate administration work for SDH Standard SSL.

Not included in this purchase

  • Certificate installation or deployment to your servers.
  • Server repair, application fixes or mixed-content remediation.
  • Continuous certificate management or automatic expiry reminders.
  • Automatic renewal or a guaranteed future renewal price.

Plan for reissuance and renewal.

A server move, a replacement key or certificate-validity rules may require a fresh CSR and reissue. Confirm the permitted request with SDH; installing the replacement remains your administrator's responsibility.

Renewal is arranged manually; pricing will be confirmed before renewal. Reissuance is subject to the issuer's rules and does not include SDH installation labor or promise that every name change is free.

Frequently asked questions

More about SDH Standard SSL.

Prism Wings Dot checking one website name for a domain validated certificate.
Start with the exact website name

Check the exact domain and eligible www pairing. A free DV certificate included with your hosting may already meet your needs.

Do I need this if my hosting already includes free DV?

Possibly not. A correctly configured automated DV certificate can provide the encryption you need. Consider your hosting support, naming requirements and certificate-management process before buying a separate certificate.

Does Standard SSL verify my business?

It verifies domain control. It does not add the organization identity checks supplied with OV or EV certificates.

Can I add my shop subdomain later?

Do not assume a separate shop hostname is included. Ask about a wildcard for first-level subdomains, or a multi-domain certificate for a named set of addresses.

Is installation included with SDH Standard SSL?

No. The certificate purchase does not include installation, server repair, mixed-content fixes or continuous certificate management. Your hosting administrator installs and verifies the certificate; ask SDH about separately agreed assistance if needed.

Does a five-year purchase mean one certificate lasts five years?

No. The prepaid term is the purchased subscription period. Individual certificate validity is subject to CA and browser requirements, so you may need reissuance, validation and replacement installation during that period.

How will renewal be handled?

Renewal is arranged manually; pricing will be confirmed before renewal. New validation and issuance steps may be needed. The current prepaid price is not a promise of future renewal pricing or automatic renewal.
